Come and See

Come and See is a period of observation which allows for the inquirer to attend two or three-monthly meetings prior to or in conjunction with application for Aspirancy.

Aspirancy

Aspirancy is a period which allows both the Community and the Aspirant the opportunity to make an adequate discernment of a vocation. The Aspirant program is one full year.

 First/Temporary Promise

Preparation to make First/Temporary Promise: Upon Investiture in the Scapular of the Order, the Candidate will undergo two years of deeper formation. Following this period of formation the candidate may make the First/Temporary Promise.

Definitive Promise

Preparation to make Definitive Promise: The member will continue study and formation for an additional three years. Following this period, the candidate may be invited by the Community Council to make the Definitive Promise to live the evangelical counsels and the spirit of the Beatitudes for life.

Formation for Life

On Going Formation for life: Secular Order Carmelites will endeavor daily to nourish their prayer life by the study and spiritual reading of Scripture, particularly the Gospels, and the writings of our Carmelite Saints.
