A New Chapter for the Carmelite Family in Canada
Introducing the First Team
of the
REGIONAL VICARIATE OF CANADA

We are pleased to share the wonderful news that the Carmelite Vicariate in Canada has now been officially established. This marks an important milestone in the growth of the Discalced Carmelite Order in Canada and is a sign of the Order's confidence in
its future mission in our country.
A Vicariate is established when a Province has matured to the point where it can assume greater responsibility for its life and ministry within a particular region. While remaining united with the Mother Province, the Vicariate has greater autonomy in its governance and pastoral mission. For the OCDS in Canada, this means a stronger Carmelite presence and continued support for the life and formation of our communities. With the establishment of the Vicariate also comes new spiritual leadership for the Secular Order. We are pleased to welcome our newly appointed Provincial OCDS Delegates.

With heartfelt gratitude, we thank Father Rajesh D’Souza OCD for his three years of
faithful service to the OCDS communities and members of Central and Eastern Canada. WE are deeply grateful for his guidance, his availability, and the many ways he supported and accompanied our communities during his time as Provincial Delegate. His presence, ministry, and commitment have been a great blessing to the OCDS in Canada. We wish him every blessing.
As members of the Carmelite family, we give thanks to God for these important milestones. May the Lord bless all those entrusted with leadership, as together we continue to deepen our Teresian vocation and serve the Church with fidelity and joy
